Hi, I'm John Gorra, owner and President of Cooperative Food Sales (CFS). CFS works with numerous manufacturers and distributors in order to deliver to you outstanding products at competitive prices.

The CFS office is located in Staunton, Virginia in the heart of the scenic Shenandoah Valley. Staunton is the Winner of a 2002 National Trust for Historic Preservation Great American Main Street Award and offers a host of unique, charming historic sites, free trolleys, and the warmth and hospitality that Virginia is famous for. The Gorra family looks forward to putting down roots in the Queen City.

I grew up working in our family produce business in Connecticut and continued to work there for several years after college. I then earned an MA in religion and spent seven years working for non-profits: one year with the Red Cross and six years for SHARE New England, a large non-profit food cooperative and volunteer service program. After one year with a specialty meat company, I started Cooperative Food Sales on March 1, 1999, with a goal of selling quality products to many other nonprofit and food cooperatives through out the country.

Cooperative Food Sales works with a dedicated group of vendors who share my commitment in providing customers with excellent service and quality. Finally, Rebecca, my wife, and I feel incredibly fortunate for many reasons, not the least which are our two daughters Elizabeth and Olivia. With them, and our many other blessings in mind, we pledge 10% of all profits generated from this web site will go to charity.
